About Us
Sandylane Registered Bernese Mountain Dogs is a small family run kennel situated half an hour south of Woodstock, Ontario. We have a large rural property where our Berners have plenty of room to exercise and explore. We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of Ontario. Our breeding dogs are CKC registered. For our breeding dogs we have done OFA testing for heart, hips and elbows. We have also done testing for DM (SOD1A and SOD1B) and vWD through OFA and GenSol.
At Sandylane we focus on raising healthy, well-socialized puppies in a family atmosphere. Our puppies are used to being around my wife and I, and our children from the first day of their life. They are also introduced to other children, adults, and dogs throughout their first eight to nine weeks of life at our place. Our puppies are CKC registered, wormed, vet checked, microchipped, and have their first shots. They are sold with a non-breeding contract, and a written two year health guarantee.
Owning a dog is a large responsibilty. We expect that people interested in a Bernese Mountain Dog thoroughly research the breed and ask any questions they may have before they decide this is the breed for them. People thinking about a Bernese Mountain Dog must be aware of the health concerns, as well as the time involved in meeting the grooming and exercise requirements of this wonderful breed. We keep in contact with those who do adopt a puppy from us. We love to receive comments and pictures of puppies in their new homes. We are there to address any questions people may have throughout their pet’s life.
